Fritz Hansen marked Ax chair armless lounge version

In 1949 Peter Hvidt and Mølgaard-Nielsen designed the "Ax" chair which became the best known design of their career. The Ax chair was built in several different variations. Offered here is the more unusual armless version. The Ax chair was exhibited in 1951 as part of the "Good Design" show sponsored by the MoMA. This chair is not being reproduced and the armless versions rarely come to market. Austin Modern is pleased to offer this early armless version of a classic design icon. 950.
